Violators face a fine of 10 to 30 base units for illegally burning dry vegetation. Lighting fires in prohibited areas can also be punishable by up to 12 base units (under Article 16.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Causing significant damage may result in criminal prosecution. Violating fire safety regulations that result in a fire and the destruction or damage of property is punishable by a fine of 5 to 30 base units, warned the regional office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
