On Parental Responsibility for Children's Failure to Obey Traffic Rules. State Traffic Safety Inspectorate officers pay special attention to preventing child injuries. With the onset of warmer weather, children increasingly use personal mobility devices (electric scooters, hoverboards, and unicycles), which requires increased supervision by adults. Parents may be held administratively liable for their children's failure to comply with traffic rules: Article 10.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus ("Failure to fulfill child-rearing responsibilities"). If a minor commits an offense (including traffic violations) before reaching the age of administrative responsibility, this entails a fine of up to 10 basic units for the parents. Article 18.20 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus. For violation of traffic rules by a pedestrian or a person operating a personal mobility device (PMD). If the child has already reached the age of administrative responsibility (16 years), they are responsible themselves, but before this age, the burden of responsibility falls on the shoulders of their legal guardians. Parents should remember these important rules: 1. Use of personal mobility devices (PMD) is permitted only for children aged 14 and older (except in residential and pedestrian areas). 2. The speed limit on PMDs must not exceed 25 km/h. 3. Crossing the roadway on a bicycle or scooter must be done at walking speed, after ensuring it is safe. Dear parents! Remember that the best way to teach your child safe behavior is by setting a personal example. Supervise your children's leisure time and do not allow them to go on the road without proper supervision and knowledge of traffic regulations.
